The Temple of Art & Literature

Yesterday we went to the Temple of Art & Literature. The most interesting thing I thought was the turtles. The turtles are made of stone. They stand for 1306 people who where doctor laureates and they achieved fame in the study of Confucianism. These stone turtles survived the Vietnam War because the Vietnamese people covered them with sand and concrete to protect them. They were unburied in 1993. While I walked through the temple I kept thinking about how cool it was that the Temple of Art & Literature survived the Vietnam War.

  1. Yve, I love all the fables and stories about the sights you are seeing. What a great story we could write about them.
